Artek’s Pirkka chair is a Finnish design classic by Ilmari Tapiovaara, combining the familiarity of traditional wooden furniture with a clean, modern expression. In this version, the brown wooden seat and gently curved backrest bring warmth to the chair, while the black metal base gives the silhouette a light and distinctive character. The split seat, slender splayed legs and tall rear supports create a look that feels both expressive and carefully balanced. Pirkka is especially at home around a dining table, where its subtle contrast of wood and metal can be appreciated from every angle.
