Mjuk Finds in the New Bob W Hotel in Stockholm

In the heart of Stockholm, in Norrmalm, stands a brutalist building from 1965 that has been given a completely new life.

At Mjuk, we are especially proud that our second-hand armchairs have found their place in this unique space. They fit perfectly alongside vintage rugs and iconic pieces of Swedish design, proving that the circular economy is much more than just collecting “eco points.” It’s a way to add stories, depth, and lasting value to a space.

Old Meets New

How do you blend the aesthetics of the 1960s with the spirit of modern Stockholm? This was the challenge Bob W and Note Design Studio tackled in their Norrmalm project.

The design embraced a strong circular economy mindset, where vintage icons, reused materials, and upcycling solutions showcase how thoughtful reuse can create sustainable and inspiring design.

  • The hallways are adorned with vintage Swedish textiles from various artists. These woven artworks have, for centuries, told stories of local life and craftsmanship.
  • Bathrooms were creatively upgraded without tearing everything out, saving resources and reducing unnecessary emissions.
  • Mjuk’s second-hand armchairs and other vintage finds add a touch of personality to the space.

Sustainability Is More Than Just a Buzzword

The story is simple: reuse, upcycle, repurpose. This is how a 1960s building was transformed into a forward-facing Bob W destination, where the past and present meet in the most beautiful way.
