Bidjar Zandjan oriental rug 200 x 300 cm

Bidjar Zandjan rugs are known for their exceptionally dense and firm construction, resulting in a heavy, compact feel with a very high wool content. The rugs are hand knotted from wool and feature clear red tones, often accented with lighter detailing, with patterns commonly based on Herati designs. Due to the extremely tight knotting, the rugs are rigid and should be folded with the pile facing outward to avoid damaging the knots. The substantial weight and solidity make the rugs feel heavier and less flexible than most other rugs. Knot density ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 knots per square metre.
